What I learned from my Spanish friend

Everything happened when one day I received a connection request in my LinkedIn profile. I saw a handsome face and a tagline mentioning “Author of 4 books”. I have no idea I am always attracted to the term author, even though I haven’t read any novels for years. When I did a bit more digging into his profile it was pretty interesting. So I messaged him and we started to talk over chats. Maybe due to the time zone, we seldom chat at the same time. The usual practice was me texting him today and replying to me the next day and in some situations, the waiting for his reply was more than a day.

Every time I talked to him, I always had a kind of positive response from him. Expressions and Opinions was my dream project. Not to mention not the first dream project, the first one was named “Anecdotes with daughter”. We will talk about it later so that I can explain why the whole idea went down eventually. Both my husband and a stranger told me that the idea of Expressions and Opinions was too shallow. But it was Mr. Spain who said believing in my dreams was better than burying them because someone else did not approve of it. So I thought why not give it a try.

I think it is easy to give up. But when someone makes you believe in yourself you will never forget them. He made me feel comfortable talking to him. It’s been 4 months since I knew this person. Over the chats which never went personal, I have immense respect for him and the reasons are many for that. If I were to list it, the first and foremost reason is his character. I have talked to many men and women over LinkedIn basically to develop my professional network. But some men think this is a dating app and they just flirt. But my Spanish friend was professional in every manner.

I admire him because he is a dog lover. I never liked dogs, but my daughter changed my attitude. Being professional, kind, and an open person to interact with makes him my special friend (maybe one-sided). I usually don’t appreciate meeting someone over any social media platform. But I can say he is one of the greatest connections I gained through LinkedIn.
